A Beautiful Wedding & Reception at Sunnehanna Country Club
Yesterday, at the beautiful Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, PA, we had the pleasure of being the wedding photographers for Nikole and Michael. We had such an amazing time with this fun couple and their family and friends. We started out our day at the bride's parent's gorgeous home. We were able to get some unique and wonderful photographs in their home. The elegant staircase that you will see in some of the pictures below, was designed speciall for Nikole and her younger sister Jackie to be photographed in their wedding gowns on their wedding days! Let me tell you, it was perfect! We absolutely love the shots we were able to capture with this beautiful staircase. After some pictures at Mr. and Mrs. Bassett's home, we moved onto get some shots of Michael and his groomsmen at his new home that Nikole will share with him after the wedding. We had plenty of laughs with these guys and their pictures. After we got some fun and semi-serious poses with the groom and his groomsmen, it was on to Sunnehanna to get Nikole and her ladies getting ready for the wedding! They ladies were all so lovely and great to work with as well. We love working with wedding parties like Michael and Nikole's, we felt as though we were amoung our own friends. Their wedding was on the patio due to the on and off rain during the day, but the staff and expert wedding planners at Sunnehanna did an excellent job setting everything up. The reception area and uplighting was absolutely amazing as you can see in some of the photos below. Something that was very unique about their reception was that they had a choreographed routine for their first dances! Before we go any further, let's take some time to learn more about Michael and Nikole.
For those who don't know, Michael was born on an Army base in Munich, Germany on May 15, 1991. You should've seen the look on the post office official when he handed him his "birth certificate" for his passport!
Nikki was born in Fair Oaks, Virginia on February 14, 1992. Everyone who notices her birthdate makes a comment about Valentine's Day. Literally everyone... LOL
We mt in church at the ages of 14 and 15. We bacame great friends and spent most of our time riding quads. By the age of 16 we started dating and after 3 long weeks... broke up! :0
Not too long after we went back to being friends, figuring this would be a better idea... it clearly wasn't. We knew there was something there, which has lead us to where we are now. On July 27, 2011 we started dating again. We went to chili's for chocolate molten lava cake on the bike. (Michael's idea. He has a chocolate obsession.)
December 24, 2012 Michael proposed in front of our families after exchanging Christmas gifts. He wrote a beautiful card and after reading it, he got down on one knee and asked Nikki to be his wife as he was holding the most beautiful ring ever in front of me, so of course I had to say yes!
On January 26, 2014 we bought our first house! Michael is currently living there with our 2 dogs Hemi and Aisha. Nikki is extremely excited to move in immediately after the wedding.
Michael plans to pursure his military career, finish college, and hope in the near future to open an Italian restaurant of his own. Nikki as usual plans to go where ever life takes her.
